Partial Care, also known as Partial Hospitalization or PHP, is now considered the clinical foundation of evidence-based treatment practices. They are most commonly utilized as a step-down phase from higher-level medical care, such as emergency rooms, medical detox, or inpatient rehab. A partial care program is a hybrid level of care where clients can participate in intensive, highly-focused treatment while staying at home or in a sober living setting. Rather than living in an inpatient hospital setting around the clock, clients arrive for treatment in the morning and return home in the afternoon.
In comparison to alternative levels of care, partial care provides more flexibility while delivering inpatient-level care, allowing clients to work, go to school, and manage daily responsibilities without sacrificing their commitment to personal well-being. Partial care programs also enable clients to actively practice their recovery techniques in the real world. They’ll encounter stressors, triggers, and obstacles but learn how to work through and overcome them in a safe and supportive ecosystem.
In particularly challenging situations, clients will have the support and guidance of their care teams to help them remain accountable and develop the self-awareness and confidence needed to move forward. By combining the flexibility of independent living with the support and structure of quality care, Psyclarity Health empowers clients to achieve lasting recovery through consistent development and refinement of the skills achieved in our evidence-based practices.
Where inpatient rehabs require full-time residential care, partial care programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) allow a patient the option to either live at one of our supportive off-site sober living homes or commute from home while undergoing treatment during the center’s clinical hours.
